problem DVDplayback with MPC
Hi, just updated to v10.2 along with MPC(I guess...), but having two DVD playback issues,
1. windows auto play no longer respond to MPC, I set the autoplay preset to MPC, and noting came out, I even manually select using MPC to play DVD in the autoplay window, same thing happened, nothing...
2. When playing the DVD, at the start of it, normally would be the menu, or some copyright stuff before that, when I pressed the navigational buttons at the bottom, or any other places, it frost a little and "not responding" appeared at the windows bar, do that again, and it would happen again... when tried to skip to the menu, it would freeze even longer... and every time I press next chapter during menu playing to speed things up a little, it would get "jumpy"...
hope any one can help
Much appreciated!!

Re: problem DVDplayback with MPC
Does autoplay work if you choose Windows Media Player? If not, then autoplay is probably disabled for the DVD drive in Windows.
Can you try with a different DVD and see if the second problem occurs again? It could be a problem specific to menu of the DVD you tested.

well, I tried to go into the autoplay setup menu and enable it to MPC, have been trying to do it many times, and the dvd just wouldn't play with MPC that way, of course if I open MPC and click play dvd, it would work, but this is clearly a different situation. I will try it with a different dvd see if I got any luck. Many thanks!!

Re: problem DVDplayback with MPC
MPC-HC options > Player > Formats
1) Press Modify button (only needed on Win7 and newer)
2) Uncheck AutoPlay options and press Apply
3) Enable AutoPlay options and press Apply
This should re-recreate the values in the registry. Maybe that fixes the problem.

Re: problem DVDplayback with MPC
I've been looking for a solution online for weeks!! I have this exact same problem in Win 8.1. I ended up using a program Default Program Editor (http://defaultprogramseditor.com/) and deleted the registry entry and created a new one that works. It will be great if this can be fixed so that I don't have to mess with the registry every time. The option to select MPC-HC is there but when you select it, it doesn't do anything.
