Video keeps going white
when I play videos using RealPlayer with the latest k lite codec installed and latest graphics drivers from ATI the video at times keeps going white, its been happening for a long time.
Graphics driver is ATI Radeon HD 5800 series.

Look in the ATI control panel for an option called "Dynamic Contrast" and disable it.
If that doesn't help then you need to try a different player.

hi and thanks for your reply. I turned that setting off yet it still happens, it never used to happen several months ago in older versions so it was something that got changed within the k lite codec, also happens in Windows Media Player.
I could use VLC, but the whole point of k lite codec on my system is that I get to use my favourite player which is realplayer.
is there any other solution?

There may be other video enhancement options in the ATI control panel. They should all be turned off, as they either cause problems, or make quality worse.
This is not a codec problem, so the only advice I can give is to update the ATI graphics driver.
You can also try disabling hardware acceleration and disabling NV12 colorspace output in the video decoder. Those are not really solutions, but merely workarounds for avoiding certain problems in the graphics driver.
