After updating Media Player Classic, an AVI file won't play anymore.
It's just a black screen. I tried using different splitters, but nothing worked.

Do other files play properly?
Which video decoder is listed under "Play > Filters" in MPC?

Yep, as far as I can tell no other videos are having a problem.
LAV Video Decoder is shown in that menu.

Can you tell me where you downloaded that specific file? Then I can get it for testing and send it to the developer of LAV Video decoder in case there is a bug.

I have no idea where I downloaded it from. I guess it's no big deal, it's just one file.

Re: After updating Media Player Classic, an AVI file won't play anymore.
I finally found .AVI problem too........ these AVI DV are rendered by Adobe Premiere Pro.
These AVI DV won't play using MPC, only first frame appeared. Sounds is OK.
Video decoder listed under "Filters" are: Default DirectSound Device, VMR 9 (renderless), Audio Switcher> , LAV Video Decoder, AVI Splitter, File Source (Async)
But No problem playing with Windows Media Player (WinXP)
just info:
these AVI also fail being imported by TMPEG Express 3.
TMPEG Express 3 using VFAPI (Direct Show Multimedia Reader) to import .AVI
(maybe this DirectShow using same shared latest driver/codec LAV, AVI Splitter, or else ? )
