MPC VR UpScaling method Empty MPC VR UpScaling method

In the MPC VR setting under video shader processor. there's a checkbox to enable the upscaling method. what exactly does it do and when would it be beneficial to enable it?

By default the video processor is used for all scaling.

My advice is to leave settings at default.
