Yes, once an open source decoder is available. Same answer applies for any other future audio or video format.

The H.266 format specification has only been finalized a few months ago. It usually takes a few years before new video formats become commonly used in real life. So you are currently asking for something that you do not yet need. With all past formats, a decoder was available in K-Lite long before most people would encounter a video that needed it for the first time.

H266 is still totally irrelevant at this time.

Support for it won't be added until FFmpeg adds support for it.
