Can't play video on autorun
Hi All, I have been playing a guitar tutor DVD successfully on my PC with Windows 10.
On my new DELL laptop (Windows 10), the .mpg files play OK stand-alone (they open with Media Player Classic), but when I autorun the DVD, only the audio can be heard, no video.
I have tried copying the disc and running from my hard drive, but no difference. There are no error messages appearing.
It has been suggested to me that this is a CODEC issue ?
I would greatly appreciate your advice – in layman’s terms though please; I am not computer savvy !!

You could try:
Codec Tweak Tool > Preferred splitters > .MPG > select LAV splitter
Codec Tweak Tool > Preferred splitters > .MPG > select LAV splitter

Thanks Admin,
I am not computer savvy so apologies for my ignorance !! I don't know how to check the player when I Autoexec the program (though Media Player Classic does a fine job with the individual .mpg files) and what is a Tweak Tool ?

"Codec Tweak Tool" is a configuration program that is included with the codec pack. You can find a shortcut for it in the Windows Start menu.
If no player opens when using autoplay, then the DVD probably uses its own player.

Thanks Admin - It's working !! I found the Tweak Tool but the LAV splitter under .MPG was already selected ? Anyway, I copied the DVD to my hard drive again, rebooted, and it works fine. Still doesn't work when running off the DVD but that's not an issue now.
Thanks again
Tony

I forgot to mention that, yes, the DVD has a player.exe file listed. Tony
