ffdshow does have very good option for cropping the image left/right/top/bottom. I did not find anything in MPC to crop the image. Is there any?

It depends on what you want to crop.

MPC-HC has the ability to stretch, move, zoom, and rotate the video.
MPC-HC menu > View > Pan&Scan
There are more combos than shown in the menu, for example Numpad9 to zoom and Alt+Numpad3 to rotate.

Madvr has an option to crop black bars.
