Problem of visualization Windows movie maker 2.6

Post by thibault.p.b on Tue Feb 21, 2017 10:55 am

Dear all,

I am currently trying to make a movie on windows movie maker 2.6 but I get the following problem:
My video runs perfectly when I play it from the collection menu. Once I drag and drop it onto the mounting table I have the sound but no video anymore. However if I use the full-screen mode of the player I can see the video playing but only on the top left quarter of the screen.
I tried different configurations of the K-lite codecs but I am afraid not to be expert enough to know what I am doing. I also tried re-installing windows movie maker 2.6.
I also read the FAQ question about it but it didn't work eather.
Here is the configuration of my laptop :
Asus UX303UA
Windows 10 64 bits
Processor Intel core i5-6200
Intel HD Graphic 520

From what I read it is supposed to be a codec problem but so far I didn't manage to get it to work.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

thibault.p.b

It is not really a codec problem, it is more that Windows Movie Maker is an unreliable piece of crap. It is not surprising that Microsoft stopped developing it.

One thing that you could try is this:
LAV Video decoder settings > Disable YV12 and NV12 output formats

Alternative free video editors:
