black bars moving

Hi there.
Latrely I've noticed somethin strange while wating videos with los resulution. It appears the the black bars are moving alone.
Can you tell me what video render option to choose ?
And by the way can you tell me how to get rid of lava soft app it spoils my browser everytime I install you app.

I don't understand what you mean with "the black bars are moving alone". Can you explain better what is happening?

You can uninstall software through:
Windows Control Panel > Software

I did uninstall it from that panel but it kept spoiling my browser even after.
And when I lunch old resolution videos in full screen, the horizontal and vertical black bars sometimes slide and it's sometimes annoying when it comes to read subtitles.

You can reset your homepage and search in your browser settings. If you need help finding those options, tell me which browser you use.

Black bars should only change size if the resolution of the video changes during playback. That is normal, and you can't change that.

I did reset my browser 6 times to get rid of that adware but speaking of the black bars, like I said before I can't get full screen with low resolution videos et most of the time, those black bars kept moving like if I'm holding 2 or 6 numpad.
I'm using MPC for almost 10 years, you know.

Codec Tweak Tool > Settings > Reset

Are you using the default video renderer (EVR-CP) or something else?

I switched to Haali video render, I have full screen with no black bars and resetting via codec tweak tool did not solve my problem.

Are any of those videos that you have downloadable? If you can give a link to a website, torrent, or newsgroup, then I can download it an try to reproduce the problem.

Can you try all the other renderers too? I am curious what differences you get.

What is the resolution of your screen?

video renderer settings :
1 default : bad quality pixels
2 old video renderer : bad quality pixels
3 mixed renderer : very bad quality low resolution
4 mixing render 9 : bad quality pixels
5 mixing renderer 9 (without) : bad quality pixels
6 enhanced video renderer : this where problem begun cannot get full resolution
7 enhanced video renderer (custum presenter) : same goes here
8 video renderer synch : same problem
9 madvr full resolution but some how I don't like it, when toggling fullscreen someb ug noticed
10 + 11 no video renderer compressed or not : as you might know, ther's no video stream at all.

So I prefer Haali codec because I'm used to. Actually it since 2009 I've always used the version 4.75 and never updated until I changed my OS

madvr settings > rendering > general settings > disable exclusive mode option
This makes it behave more like you want I think. If not, can you explain better what it does wrong?

The quality problem seems to happen with all the renderers that are based on the standard renderers from Windows. I think the problem may be caused by your graphics driver. Which GPU do you have? Try updating the driver.

Except Haali settings, I have black bars on the edges so I can't get full image in full screen mode.
Also, with the most video settings, I can't red my old videos with subtitles
Is that clear ?

If you want to completely fill the screen:
MPC-HC menu > View > Video Frame > Stretch to Window

Or use NumPad 2/6 to stretch a little bit, and NumPad 9 to zoom a little bit. Then a little part of the video is no longer visible due to the zooming, but you need less stretching so the aspect ratio will stay closer to the original.

MPC-HC > Options > Playback > Output
There you can see which renderer are compatible with the Internal Subtitle Renderer. For the other video renderers you can use VSFilter filter for subtitles. VSFilter is not compatible with DXVA hardware acceleration. Perhaps that is why you don't have subtitles now.

Stretching Window, using NumPad ; I know all that stuff and I assure it doesn't work to get full screen because
I'm talking about encrusted subtitles (which means, I couldn't get full resolution of videos).

And switching between outputs in playback option, already done, and tested as you've read before.
The annoying thing is I didn't have such problems with previous versions, but since 1222, it's all a mess

I hope it's clear, I'm using Haali video renderer and every things works fine.
This post was just a feedback as you provide such a nice work for s for free ; and but the way why do you incorporate lava soft apps in yours ?

I downloaded the first video from that torrent. There are some glitches in the video. For example at 1:18:24. There is no issue with the black bars here. The glitch also happens when playing in a window. It just looks like the bar moves, but the glitch causes some extra black at the bottom of the video.


I have tested and the same glitches also occur with other MPEG-4 decoders, such as ffdshow or Xvid, which both have not been updated in a long time. VLC Player also has the exact same errors. This means these video were just badly encoded. The pack is not doing anything wrong.

The bundled apps are there to keep the pack free and time can be invested in development and helping people.
