No sound with a .flv video

Hello,

I have a .mp4 video that plays with audio just fine. However, after editing the video with the software 'Articulate video encoder' the video is saved as an .flv file, at that point the video plays with no audio. I am running Windows 7 and have KLCP version: 10.4.0 full.

Any help is appreciated.

You can check with the MediaInfo tool if the file contains any audio track.

It looks like a problem with that video encoder. Why are you converting to FLV? The MP4 format is more widely supported.

To check for an audio track what am I looking for specifically?

That specific software automatically converts all video to flv when published because they are meant to be embedded into power point presentations that are later used for online learning courses.

When I click on the media info for that flv video this is what I see:

MP4 files can also be embedded into PowerPoint presentations. In fact, you can link to pretty much any type of video file.

It contains an audio track and also plays normally. However, the audio just contains silence.

This is not really a playback problem. I can't help you with this. You have to ask the makers of the conversion software why the audio is silent.
