MPCVR support AMD AGS? Empty MPCVR support AMD AGS?

Post by cyberloner Sun Apr 09, 2023 6:58 am

Been using HDR monitor for a while with windows SDR mode....
if using madvr we can directly run hdr mode for hdr movies directly with amd ags and madvr (full screen) amd hdr mode with no flickering
this should be amd ags dll that combine with madvr that directly changes to hdr for movies. But latest beta madvr won't work.

question is does mpcvr support amd AGS that changes hdr mode on the fly?

mpcvr also have some bugs when setting direct HDR mode as well. Need use exclusive full screen for it.
it will flickering changing monitor hdr mode as well. Very Happy

MPCVR uses the standard Windows APIs for switching HDR.

If you are using Windows 11, then try latest MadVR beta (test build):
https://www.videohelp.com/software/madVR

Overwrite current installation with files from test build.
These test builds only work for a couple of months, and then need to be updated.

tested beta 116 as you mention with windows 11. it is same as windows 10. HDR is display as AMD HDR with passthru setting in madvr enable else it will stay SDR mode.
The movie will stay in SDR mode and display stay SDR mode...
i don't think the beta is working well.

Only the default k-lite version working perfect. Just default no need setting auto HDR mode is enable automaticly when full screen.

You may need to reset the madvr settings after updating to the beta.

The bug that the beta fixes on Windows 11 is duplication of items in the device list. So each monitor shows up several times, which also breaks HDR switching. If you don't have that bug, then not much benefit in using the beta.
