Where Is ffdshow Video Decoder setting?
Subtitle Workshop software which I use for adjust subtitles does not show the videos. There is sound but black screen.
On this link;
https://sightlake.wordpress.com/2017/08/03/subtitle-workshop-videomovie-not-showing-or-working-problem-solution/
It is suggested that change ffdshow Video Decoder settings like this;
"then select “ffdshow Video Decoder” and form the list pick up “Raw Video” and select “YV12“."
However I could not find this setting on "Codec Tweak Tool"
Where is that setting?
Any suggestions?

Re: Where Is ffdshow Video Decoder setting?
You don't need ffdshow. Those instructions are wrong.
You only need to change the video renderer to VMR9 in Subtitle Workshop.

It is already "VMR9" Why doesn't it work?
Here is the report exctracted via MediaInfo of the regarded video;

Does the problem only occur with specific videos like this one?
In the settings of LAV Video Decoder, uncheck all 10-bit and 16-bit output formats.

Re: Where Is ffdshow Video Decoder setting?
Also disable hardware decoding in the settings of LAV Video Decoder. Maybe that helps.
I do assume that the red icon for LAV Video shows up in the system tray (right bottom of screen) when opening the video? Because otherwise something else may be wrong.
Which version of Windows do you use? And which graphics card?

Re: Where Is ffdshow Video Decoder setting?
That does not work as well.
There is no red icon on the system tray. It's written "Haali Media Splitter." whilst video is playing in the
Subtitle Workshop.
Windows 10 64-bit. NVIDIA GeForce GTX960M.
The video itself plays in VLC Media Player without a problem. Subtitle Workshop is the problem.

Re: Where Is ffdshow Video Decoder setting?
Uninstall Haali Media Splitter. That is old and does not support files with HEVC video.
Then re-install the codec pack. Also make sure that you have the latest version (17.2.5).

How can I uninstall Haali Media Splitter?
It doesn't exist on "Programs And Features"

Re: Where Is ffdshow Video Decoder setting?
Maybe you installed another codec pack as well? Or a video converter.
You can find out where it is installed by looking in this log:
Codec Tweak Tool > Generate Log
If you are unable to uninstall, you can also disable it manually:
Codec Tweak Tool > Manage Filters > DirectShow

Re: Where Is ffdshow Video Decoder setting?
The Codec Tweak Tool also lets you specify the preferred splitters. You can also simply select LAV Splitter there for MP4 and MKV.
The K-Lite installer should normally take care of this automatically. So problem is likely caused by something you installed after K-Lite. Re-installing K-Lite may fix your problem.
