K-Lite or Icaros?

What's the difference to me as a user between getting the K-Lite Codec Pack and Icaros?
I never use built-in Windows media programs like WMP and I only need the thumbnail generation and explorer details. I also don't really use Media Player Classic, unless it's for midi files.

K-Lite includes Icaros. So no difference for explorer functionality.

It also has an option to install codecs only for the included Media Player Classic. Similar to standalone player.

So main benefit would be to have everything in a single package.
