MPC-HC video playback issue

I have the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack installed and update it regularly, and have been using it for a long time with different Windows versions, including Windows 10.

Until a few months ago, I had both the system and the codec pack running from an HDD. The video and audio files files I play with MPC-HC are kept on a secondary HDD. A few months ago I started using an SSD, to which I migrated the system and all the rest without problems.

And now when I play the videos, no matter what size, it takes MPC-HC about five seconds to start the playback—while it started instantly before.

It happens with videos only, not with audio files. At first I wondered if it was something related to the SSD.

I haven't tried any solution 'cause I have no idea what is causing the issue, but installed the MPC-HC portable version on that secondary HDD—and the issue also happens with it.

UPDATE: I have the very same Windows 10 and K-Lite Mega Codec Pack versions installed on my notebook, but that issue doesn't happen there, the videos start playing right after I open them with MPC-HC.

Does it also occur if you copy a video to the SSD and then play it?

Also try this:
Options > Player > Disable "open disc" menu

It also occured with videos played from the SSD, but the NVIDIA stuff was the cause indeed. Case solved, thanks, Admin!
