EVR Custom Presenter Freezes The Player During Seeking !

Hi Admin,
Recently, whenever I attempt to seek and move around any video, the player crashes!
The only way to solve this is by changing "Video Renderer" to anything but EVR CP (which I prefer to use).
Any thought to fix it ??

Does EVR Sync work correctly?
Are you using hardware acceleration?

Do you have EVGA PrecisionX installed? That is known to cause crashes.

EVR Sync is faulty too while Haali is not!
The option "Use DXVA hardware acceleration" is marked, disabling it didn't fix it.
I don't have EVGA PrecisionX.
Your attention is always appreciated.

Video Mixing Renderer 9 (renderless) works.
I'm using nVidia CUDA as Hardware Acceleration but changing it to "none" has no effect on the crash!

I recommend using DXVA2 instead of CUVID.

This version will submit a crash report to the developers of MPC-HC when it crashes. It should also open a website on drdump.com. Please copy the link of that page here, so I can see the details of the crash.

You know what, I think I'm gonna stick to Haali as it is stable & works very well.

I need to use custom EVR or MadVR instead of Haali but both of them still crash the player during seeking in mkv videos (exclusively)!
I've been using MPC-BE for months now and I tried installing latest K-Lite from scratch but no go!
You're really my only hope here :/

Please do this. The MPC-HC from the pack does not supply crash details.

So here's the thing, I couldn't get the crash report due to the following scenario while seeking:
1. EVR (custom): The player won't crash and works fine but not in my main player MPC-BE in its latest version.
2. MadVR: Freezes the player, so no crash report can be made.
3. Haali: Turns the picture into black.
Any ideas ?

Create a madvr freeze report.

1) Grab the latest nightly build of MPC-HC
https://nightly.mpc-hc.org/
2) Also get the corresponding PDB file. Open it with WinRAR or 7-Zip and extract the files into the MPC-HC folder.
These files contain debugging information.
3) Re-create the freeze. Then press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Break/Pause. A log file should be created on your desktop.

No, I can't press or access anything as the player gets completely frozen.
Again, this only happens with mkv files.

Did you put the PDB files in the MPC-HC folder? It seems the freeze report was made without it.

Yes, I did.
Turns out the crash is related to Reclock software, as I use it as the default Audio Renderer in MPC-BE !
Now I need to make a post in their forum for troubleshooting.

So, I removed Reclock to use LAV Bitstreaming and most importantly fixing the crash, but a new issue came up.
M2TS files Audio are now decoded by Microsoft DTV-DVD Decoder instead of external LAV filters. (and yes, they're preferred and video decoder is working fine)
So I disabled Microsoft Decoder by renaming its 2 files in System folders, but now MPC Audio Decoder is used!
Noting that all the internal filters are unchecked and LAV was reinstalled.
Any idea how to prioritize/make LAV Audio decoder default in MPC ??

That happens if bitstreaming fails. Check that the correct audio device in selected as default in the Windows Control Panel. In the audio device settings check that it correctly lists all audio formats that are supported by your receiver.

I had to disable Bitstreaming in LAV Audio Decoder to let it work!

That is what I said. Bitstreaming is not working. If you disable it, then of course LAV will get used again.

S/PDIF is limited to stereo PCM. HDMI can do up to 7.1 PCM, so there is no real need for bitstreaming in that case.
