DVD playing issues

Since I use K-Lite Codec Pack with MPC I have sometimes problems to play DVDs. The most are playing correctly but some doesn't start the DVD menu. I tried it with VLC player, too and everything works fine. So you cannot say it's a problem of the DVD structure.

I would change to VLC player but I'm so happy with MPC because of some little features. Clicking on a media file in explorer and change to the next or the recent file with the player buttons for example. On VLC player you always have to load the files in a playlist.

Can you play all the DVDs out there with your MPC? I tested it on two computers with the same result.

Do those DVDs play correctly with Windows Media Player?

MPC-HC uses the standard DVD Navigation filter from Windows. I have encountered a few (custom made) DVDs that had problems. I don't think this is a problem that is fixable by the MPC-HC developers. You can use the Navigate menu in MPC-HC to jump to specific chapters or titles in the DVD.
