How set the K-lite

Post by Cod Opt on Tue Sep 26, 2017 8:51 pm

Hello everyone!
I'm new here, so someone can explain me how set the videoplayer with the best option to play a video without loss of quality.
The defaul option set are no good for video with 60 fps, because I see the player skip some frame

Enable DXVA as decoder option in the setup rather than software decoding. You can also change this by going to LAV Video and then change the setting "Hardware decoder to use". Either pick DXVA copy-back or DXVA native(copy-back > native unless copy-back doesn't work).

It's the same as DXVA Native unless you force a device then it will use DXVA Copy-back.

The biggest difference between DXVA and D3D11 is the ability for applications to swap between native and copy-back on-the-fly. Also, D3D11 uses Direct3D11 video functionality, where DXVA uses Direct3D9 video functionality. For decoding purposes it's the same as DXVA. D3D11VA only works on Windows 8+.

Use LAV Video's DXVA (native is faster than copy-back)/D3D11 in combination with EVR (custom presenter) as renderer using MPC-HC for the best performance.

It depends on your GPU but DXVA is almost always faster than software decoding.

Oh right i forgot about that. You will need to install the Media Feature Pack to be able to use EVR. http://codecguide.com/windows_media_codecs.htm

Not really. The defaults are fine for both.

Nah this codec pack has sensible defaults good for 99.99% of users. Most settings in LAV should not be fiddled with if you don't know what it does. Make sure to select EVR(custom presenter) once you've installed media feature pack and you're good to go. N

Three things that you need to do:
1) Install Media Feature Pack to get EVR renderer. Then select EVR Custom Presenter in MPC-HC.
2) Select DXVA2 (native) hardware acceleration in LAV Video decoder. Your system of course need to support this. For example older GPUs don't support acceleration of HEVC video. In that case it will fall back to software decoding automatically.
3) In NVIDIA control panel, adjust the "Power Management Mode" setting. It needs to be set to "Adaptive" instead of "Optimal".

Everything else is already configured with best settings by default.
