Loading speed

Post by bigriverguy on Sat Sep 24, 2016 4:16 pm

I have an application that allows me to switch between videos rapidly, so that I can preview a clip and then move on to the next one.  The videos are mp4 videos.  In version 11.7.0, the switching between videos happens very quickly in about 1/10th second.  Since then the loading time when switching between videos takes from 1/2 second to 1 second.  Did anything happen after 11.7.0 and is there any way to correct for the problem in later versions? The GPU is Intel HD Graphics 4600.

It uses a larger buffer size to avoid issues when streaming files over for example WiFi. You can easily adjust the setting.

In the installer (advanced mode) the relevant setting is called "[LAV Splitter] Increase input buffer size".

To adjust manually in LAV Splitter settings:
Maximum Queue Packets = 350
Maximum Queue Memory = 128

You could even lower the packets value further to make it load even faster.

Hardware acceleration may also reduce loading speed. So recommended is to use software decoding.
