Problems with Windows 10 Empty Problems with Windows 10

Post by Jako7 Fri Aug 07, 2015 1:48 pm

Hi! I updated my OS some days ago and after that started the toruble. Im using the newest version of standard pack and the issues are:
1. The MPC-hc (x64) won't reproduce any file. It just open and the freezes
2. Windows Media Player reproduces the .mkv files without major problem, but only one time after the installation the .mp4 files after it chash and report it cannot be opened.

I've updated the video drivers, but i can't find any solution. This is the Codec Tweak Tool log

Do you perhaps have EVGA PrecixionX or F-Secure installed? Both can cause MPC-HC to crash.

You could try the old 14.12 AMD driver. That seems to be more stable for some people.

No, i don't have any of them.. In windows 8.1 it worked perfect, the problema came after the update. Now i'll try the older drivers
Yesterday, when i was installing the latest version of the amd drivers the display control installation failed. The notebok have the generic driver of Microsoft installed ¿could be this part of the problem?

I did some searching and driver version 15.200.1046.2 is more stable for most people. That is a version installed by Windows Update. So try removing your current driver, reboot, and let Windows install a fresh one.

Problems with Windows 10 Empty Re: Problems with Windows 10

I did as you recomended, but Windows Update only installs on my laptop version 15.200.1045.1 (7-7-2015). However i reinsalled the codec pack, this time the mega version and some errors dissapeared.
The MPC-HC (x64) still won't reproduce the .mkv/mp4 files, just opens says "stopped".
The problem with WIndows Media Player are the .mp4 files with 1080p quality like the YIFY/anoXmous ones. When i try to deinterlace them the player stop working and cannot open any video files until I revert the settings to original. In windows 8.1 i managed to solve this, but now it makes the player crash... Could you tell me how to configure the decoders to see them correctly? If i can use at least the WMP it'd be great!

Start by disabling hardware acceleration.

Why do you need to deinterlace? That should normally happen automatically if the video is actually interlaced. I really doubt those movie rips you have are interlaced.

When the WMP reproduce this files with the default configuration, it gets laggy, the images kind of "jump", and the sound isn't synchronized.
Disabling hardware acceleration in the LAV Video Decoder didn't fix anything.
I don't kow much about how it works, but trying diferent options i came to his configuration that improves the reproduction, but still have those jumps and desyncronization

You have a pretty weak CPU, so playback might be laggy because it is running at 100%. But at least we know playback works with software decoding.

You could try DXVA2 copy-back.

I kept trying, but it stills get laggy. It's a shame because it worked perfect with windows 8.1, despite the weak CPU. At least i can see the720p files, and after installing the 7th august update the MPC-HC started working again. I hope that fure windows updates could optimize the CPU usage so i can reproduce those files again. Thanks a lot for your help!
