Need 32-bit MPC to view rm files?
It looks like the 64-bit version of MPC can't view some rm file. The 32-bit version seems to work fine. This has been true for a long time.
It would be great if K-Lite would install 32-bit and 64-bit version of MPC with the appropriate file extensions (i.e. RM, etc -> mpc32, others -> mpc64.)
Related problem: when I try to re-install K-Lite (12.2.0) on Windows 7 64 bit (to install the 32-bit MPC), I get a blank install window and all windows pop are blank. I have to reboot to fix, but K-Lite still won't re-install.
I suspect the problem is that I am using a 4K (3840x2048) monitor. I can provide more information if you need it.

Re: Need 32-bit MPC to view rm files?
The 64-bit version should be able to play .rm and .rmvb files. Can you point me to a file that doesn't work?
Can you make a screenshot of the installer problem? I never never seen this before. Does it also happen if you uninstall the pack first?

Re: Need 32-bit MPC to view rm files?
I investigated a bit further.
K-Lite won't play certain .rm files with either the 32 or 64 bit version. If I install RealAlternative 2.0.2, then MPC32 works, but (of course) not MPC64.
I can isolate a small example which fails without RealAlternative if you want to follow up.
I un-installed K-Lite and reinstalled and it went fine. I can check further why the first install failed if you're interested, but I'm ok.

Those files probably contain multi bitrate streams. Those are not (yet) supported.

Re: Need 32-bit MPC to view rm files?
Thanks for info. I can live with the current setup (using RealAlternative and MPC32), now that I know how to install it correctly.
It's not like there are that many .rm files out there that I care about.
