eq possibilty

Post by john11 on Mon Jun 29, 2015 6:23 pm

Hi. And thanks for reading this post

I am using media player classic for playback of music and movies via a hp 8570p laptop

Using lav audio and lav video with dts decoder dll from arcsoft to decode dts hd ma audio.

Down mixed to stereo the sound is taken from the laptop via an external premap, then to the amp.

Is it possible to insert any kind of equalizer into media player classic whether it is paid or freeware.

ffdshow has an eq but would i lose dts hd ma decoding

LAV Audio decoder supports DTS-HD MA by itself now. You no longer need the Arcsoft dll. This also means you could switch to the 64-bit player if you want, as get better performance.

It is possible to use ffdshow purely as a processor, in combination with LAV as the decoder.
MPC-HC options > External Filters > Add "ffdshow audio processor" and set it as preferred.

Hi. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Which version number of k lite codec pack supports dts hd ma

When i add ffdshow audio processor the eq pops up and under each slider is a number indicating which frequency is being adjusted.

If i click on this number i can change it, is this an adjustable eq or am i doing it wrong.

Also when i go to add filters, a whole load of other filters appeard, i have j river media player and powerdvd installed as well

Sorry, clicked on the wrong button and my post was cut short

Under add filters i have

1 cyberlink audio decoder
2 cyberlink demultiplexer
3 cyberlibk dtvcc decoder filter
4 cyberlink dump filter
5 cyberlink h264 decoder
6 cyberlink video sp decoder
7 cyberlink mpeg 2 splitter
8 cyberlink parser filter.

Are any of these worth using, are they any better or worse than those mpc is already using.

Thank you. John.

No, you should not use any other external filters.

The number on which you can click in the Equalizer settings are the frequencies. You should normally not need to change them. You only need to adjust the sliders.

Right, but if i typed in a higher frequencies would it adjust that higher frequency

I mean the eq only goes up to 8k, i want to boost 20k, 15k and 10k by the full 12db

For some reason my audio system is severely lacking in treble

Thank you.

It shows up to 16k here. Maybe a DPI issue?

Yes, you can change the frequencies if you want. I doubt they would be editable if that didn't work as expected.
