10.9+ vsfilter problem

i noticed heavy lag since updating from 10.8.5 to 10.9+ (using MPC+SVP)
and found out the source was the missing directVOBsub renderer which was replaced/updated? with vsfilter
i am having trouble with vsfilter mostly because it uses much more cpu (about 20% more on a dualcore cpu)
when i could play animated subtitles fine with directvobsub at 60fps
reverting back to 10.8.5 where dVsub is still present solves the problem

should i just update to 10.9+ while omitting vsfilter
or will it be updated to a more stable renderer?

also if you install it vsfilter will be replaced to get it back uninstall directvobsub.

xy-VSFilter was replaced by regular VSFilter. The regular version is a bit slower, but also more stable. Future version might give choice between the two versions. If you install xy-VSFilter before the codec pack, then it will be detected automatically and the pack won't replace it.

Instead of SVP you could try madVR with it smooth motion option enabled. That gives smooth playback, without increasing the framerate. That is more CPU efficient. You might also like its quality better.

thanks for the reply, i am currently using 10.8.5 but i see that you have now released v11 with the choice to choose which filter to use,
will try that out after it finishes downloading.

Now about madVR's smooth motion option, i actually cant see any difference between it being on and off (probably got used to SVP)
unlike SVP which completely removes jitter, improves panning and zooming motion, and over all smoothens video (at the expense of heavy interpolation process) but i guess its partly me to blame not being able to upgrade and pushing my dual-core limits
