How to force ffdshow

On a Divx video with MP3 audio, Winamp is loading video with ffdshow but not the audio, it's using MP3 Decoder DMO. I want ffdshow because of its volume normalization. How do I force ffdshow? I tried configuring in codectweaktool but nothing's working.

Codec Tweak Tool > Preferred decoders > Select ffdshow for MP3 (in 32-bit column)

It didn't work, Winamp is still invoking the MP3 Decoder DMO.
edit: Weird, I just loaded up the same video right now and it's working. Maybe a restart was needed? THanks!

It works here.
My Winamp installation does not contain the "in_avi.dll" plugin. I am using the "in_dshow.dll" input plugin. Maybe that makes a difference.
