I see that you're no longer include xy-VSFilter in the pack. Any reason why?
Just curious that's all Smile

BTW, are you planning to add xy-SubFilter in the future?

Development of xy-VSFilter and xySubFilter has pretty much stopped as its main developer has disappeared. Regular VSFilter has less bugs and its performance has been improved a lot, so right now it is the best choice in my opinion. When using MPC-HC the internal subtitle renderer is used of course.

XySubFilter 3.1.0.705 Beta2 = Released: 2014-12-07

Yes, I am sure. Those recent changes are just minor and were made by the project admin (cyberbeing). The main developer has been inactive for 10 months now and the project admin has been unable to contact him.

I closely follow developments of all the codecs and tools from the pack, so trust me that I know what is going on.

After several days I noticed that some of subtitles effects are lagging when using Regular VSFilter.
It's playing normally when using xy-VSFilter.
Here's the subtitle file:

It happens at 00:03:17

Tested it out... and yeah it lags even on the 720p version when using the built-in subtitle renderer but doesn't lag when using xy-VSFilter or XySubFilter.

I will send the sample to the developers. Maybe they can improve performance.

Try increasing sub pictures to buffer in MPC-HC Options -> Subtitles.  I have the 720p version and 00:03:17 does not lag for me.

Buffering is not very efficient in case of animated subtitles. So a buffer size of 0 might actually give lower peaks.

Lagging is only an issue on slower computers. On my computer the CPU usage is less than 20% with this subtitle.

In the future, the pack might offer a choice between VSFilter and xy-VSFilter.

When buffer size is set to 0, frames that are not rendered in time are dropped altogether, so there is a trade-off between seeing some scenes at a slower rate versus not seeing them at all.  On slower computers where increasing buffer size doesn't help, choosing the option to "Never animate the subtitles" may be a better solution.
