Problems with MIDI's Empty Problems with MIDI's

Post by Batnic Wed Aug 06, 2014 7:28 am

Hallo everyone.
Today I have discovered a problem with MIDI devices.
The reason was the registry branch: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ActiveMovie\devenum\{4EFE2452-168A-11D1-BC76-00C04FB9453B}\Default MidiOut Device" who for some reason you removed when you install the program. Please adjust this error.
Version with a problem: K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1060_Full.

Also does not operate properly PlayStation 1 emulator. Still don't understand why.
I restored the modified registry entries using TotalUninstall 5 and it worked, but I'm not sure if it didn't broke the codecs.
After the changes require a reboot to everything returned to normal.

Here are two files that lead to these changes if they will help you in debugging.
Setup file
Patch File Need to reboot after using this file.

Logs:
After install
After patch

Exactly what kind of problem did you have with MIDI files? Did the emulator fail to output sound?

That Registry key is just a cache for enumerated devices. Windows should automatically regenerate it's contents when an application uses the relevant functionality.

Can you give me a link to the emulator that you use?

Not MIDI "files" - MIDI "Devices".
In fact, I use the MIDI out Setter and LoopMIDI and VSTHost for chenge default device.
And I found on their website, that to change the default device requires this branch of the registry (the aforementioned).
See "Saving the ID".

Emulator just fail. No error codes, nothing. Windows says that the program stopped working and searches for solutions.
Link Emulator
Just run the BIOS that's enough.

OK. It should get fixed in next version. Then it will probably only reset the codec enumeration.

Thank you.
As for the emulator I'm not sure that the blame for your program, as I find the reason - I'll write about it.
