I'm using Windows7 64 bit and Windows Media Player.
After I installed the new K-Lite_Codec_Pack_10.4.5, I found that there are two WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYERS in the OPEN WITH menu when I right-click a video file ( .mkv for instance ). WHY?
Is this a bug of K-Lite Mega Codec?

PS: The OPEN WITH menu return back to a normal one WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER if I uninstall K-Lite Mega Codec 10.4.5.

This happens if you create file associations for the x64 version of WMP.

The codec pack does not create any entries in the "Open With" menu. Windows does that based on file associations and registered application capabilities. The two entries it shows are not the same. One is for the x86 version of WMP and the other is for the x64 version.

The second entry disappears again after uninstall because the related file associations were removed by the pack.

Windows uses the x86 version of WMP by default for compatibility reasons. The pack allows using the x64 version (for slightly better performance) but this is a side effect that can't be avoided without messing up the registry keys belonging to x86 WMP, which the pack is not going to do.
