Once upon a time, you could select an option to have MPC "exit after playback". I loved this option and would love to know if there is any way to get this functionality back, at least until they put the option back (which I desperately hope they do)

The option still exists.

Menu > Play > After Playback > Exit

It used to be in the View>Options...>Playback section. Thanks for pointing out its new hiding spot!
