An AVI file won't play sound.
This particular video file works with the Haali and Microsoft video splitters, but MPC says the file as no sound. If the LAV splitter is used, the video won't play, but MPC shows that the file has audio. Also, according to MediaInfo, the file does have audio. What settings should I change? Thanks

There are no settings to change that can fix this. There is probably something wrong with the audio stream in that file. Try seeking through the file in MPC. Maybe only specific parts have correct audio and are playable.
Re: An AVI file won't play sound.
I am having a similar issue except with MP4's, when I first play a video the sound is playing fine. However when I scroll ahead to skip the intro the sound stops completely. I have since enabled the option to remember the last place the video played at. Once the video comes back up the sound plays just fine. Any idea what setting I might need to change?

That MP4 problem should be resolved in next version of the pack. A fix in LAV Splitter for such a problem was applied a few days ago.
As a temporary workaround till next version you can use this adjustment:
Codec Tweak Tool -> Preferred splitters -> Select Haali for MP4
